How to Stop the Mind Chatter

Here are 1 problem, 2 solutions, and 2 action items to consider this week.

1 problem that I face :

If something happens to me that I don't like the actual incident may happen for a few minutes but the scene continues to replay in my mind for days and weeks.

The irritating negative self-talk and mind chatter happen in my mind.

Does this happen to you also?

2 solutions that helped me :

I went through a few youtube videos to get some solutions for it.

Here are two solutions that look easy to me.

1. Know that nothing is permanent.

When you don't feel good, know that even a bad time is not permanent. This knowingness will ease the mental agony to some extent.

2. Practise detachment from your mind.

When you have negative thoughts, practice to detach from your thoughts. It is the awareness that you are not your thoughts.

2 action items for you :

Try these when you have a racing mind.

  1. Focus only on your breath. It helps to reduce countless thoughts to just two thoughts - inhaling and exhaling.
  2. Remind yourself that you are not your thoughts.

I hope this helps.
